LabAM24 offers a 5-axis simultaneous gantry system that integrates linear XYZ axes with a rotary AC table, designed as a flexible platform for deploying InertOn.

The system configuration is fully customizable in size, payload, and workspace,
allowing it to scale from compact setups to large-format industrial applications.

By combining multi-axis motion with InertOn’s chamber-less deposition capability,
the gantry system enables high-precision, large-volume metal 3D printing without the
constraints of a sealed build chamber.

Chamber-Free Metal Additive Manufacturing

The LabAM24 5-axis gantry system combines precision motion control with chamber-free laser-wire DED technology for reactive metal processing.

Powered by the InertOn deposition head and Morphing Shield Technology (MST), the system creates a stable inert gas environment around the melt pool without requiring a sealed chamber.

This approach removes traditional chamber size limitations while supporting scalable manufacturing for aerospace, defence, research and industrial applications.

Designed for Reactive Alloys

The system is being developed for reactive metal applications where oxidation control is critical during the additive manufacturing process.

Current material development includes:

  • Ti-6Al-4V
  • Niobium C-103
  • AA 6061

LabAM24 continues to expand process development across additional reactive alloy families.

Real-Time Monitoring & Oxygen Control

LabAM24’s RT-MCT monitoring technology provides real-time process feedback during printing through integrated IR monitoring and oxygen sensing systems.

Combined with MST, the system continuously adjusts process conditions to help maintain a stable inert environment throughout the build.

Testing demonstrated oxygen levels below 20ppm within 60 seconds, maintained for over one hour during operation.

Built for Aerospace & Advanced Manufacturing

LabAM24 technology has received support from major aerospace and research organisations, including funding from the U.S. Air Force Research Lab (AOARD) and participation in the Korea Aerospace Association SBIR Programme.

The company has also secured a KARI supply contract for the production of Niobium C-103 rocket nozzles, supporting ongoing development of reactive metal additive manufacturing technologies.

Rated Excellent on Trustpilot
★★★★★

Good experience

“The order was completed but not dispatched for delivery. However, following a call with the company, they immidiately dispatched it with a discount offer for my next purchase. They had reasonable pricing and good customer service. Recommeded.”

★★★★★

Good team, striving to push UK Additive forward

“Olly, Martin, Jake and Martin have all been hugely supportive since our entry into larger scale 3D print last year, and continue to be so. Helpful in their initial advice, supportive since then to help us grow, and as a team they are actively pushing the limits to develop the large format in the UK. And always good to chat to as well!”
